Ottawa County, MI — ECT2 has been chosen to design and implement a water filtration system for a Grand Haven elementary school to help eradicate dangerous contaminants. Robinson Elementary School discovered its water contained high levels of PFAS late last year that resulted in the school using bottled water to help protect its students and faculty. After a year of searching for a solution, ECT2 was selected as the best fit to filter out the dangerous levels of PFAS in the school’s water system — ECT2 is a cost-effective, leading provider of technologies used for creating solutions related to PFAS contamination issues.

The system ECT2 will implement, which is the first Non-Community Public water supply permit for Ion Exchange in Michigan, uses resin beads inside two large filtration tanks that attract and absorb PFAS chemicals through ion exchange. The beads can be removed, disposed of, and replaced each year to ensure the treatment stays effective and useful. These uniquely designed filters are expected to be operating at the Elementary School by February 2020.
