Steven Woodard presents on lower-cost 1,4-dioxane treatment at Emerging Contaminant Summit (Event date: March 2018)
23 April 2018 (Westminster, Colo.)
In March of 2018, Steven Woodard, President and co-founder of ECT, spoke at the Emerging Contaminants Summit
on the results of a new 1,4-dioxane groundwater treatment system. Woodard’s talk detailed the replacement of an aging pump & treat system at a site in Santa Fe Springs, California. The replacement technology relies on an AMBERSORBTM
560 (Ambersorb) resin treatment system to achieve lower operating costs versus the previous system, which was based on an advanced oxidation process (AOP), coupled with granular activated carbon (GAC). Woodard explained that, after 18 months of operation, the full-scale Ambersorb system continues to consistently produce non-detect effluent for 1,4-dioxane and VOCs.
